HIZBUT TAHRIR INDONESIA AND THE IDEA OF RESTORING ISLAMIC CALIPHATE

Abstract

Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia (HTI) merupakan salah satu cabang dari organisasi internasional, Hizbut Tahrir. HTI menyebarkan agendanya dengan menekankan pada kewajiban bagi Muslim untuk menciptakan kembali kekhalifahan Islam mengingat HTI meyakini bahwa hal itu merupakan jalan utama untuk mengagungkan Islam sebagai kekuatan dominan. Studi ini berargumen bahwa keinginan HTI untuk menciptakan kembali kekhalifahan Islam bertentangan dengan ide negara kebangsaan di Indonesia. Dasar kerangka teori studi ini adalah bagian dari dimensi ‘politik-agama’ dalam hubungan antarbangsa. Studi ini menggunakan analisis historis untuk memahami perdebatan antara ide sistem khalifah dan negara bangsa dengan menganalisis ide HTI mengenai pembentukan kembali khilafah Islam. Analisis menunjukkan bahwa ketegangan antara HTI dengan elemen lain dalam masyarakat Indonesia berkaitan dengan pengaturan negara melambangkan kompetisi yang berkelanjutan antara kelompok Islamis dan nasionalis.
